Top Ten Football Bloggers

The Best Football BloggersHere's a list of the best ten football blogs on the Internet. One of the criteria I used when deciding which blogs to include is whether or not the site offers that personal touch; a list of big sports websites you already know about is worse than useless.

  1. Field of Schemes - Who would’ve thought that property taxes, naming rights, and stadium upgrades could be so fascinating? This unique blog covers the latest news on professional sports stadiums, from the NFL to the NBA. Learn about all the latest backroom maneuvering and marvel at the lengths that some owners will go to.
  2. The NFL Draft Site - The NFL draft comes along once a year, and this blog is always ready to cover it with news, rankings, and mock drafts. In addition to their own information, the site also includes a number of links to other NFL draft resources. Information is provided a few times a month, but their content explodes in April when draft day rounds the corner.
  3. Advanced NFL Stats - If you’re looking for the most advanced and in-depth research done on the NFL, don’t miss this blog. They use statistical methods such as regression and game theory to look at the underlying trends behind the success or failure of each team in the league. A paradise for math geeks and those who take their sports betting seriously.
  4. Pre-Snap Read - From the Heisman race to weekly updates on the bowl picture, this blog provides readers with a robust amount of content on the college football scene. And the information keeps right on coming during the summer months, making Pre-Snap Read your one-stop destination for NCAA action.
  5. Ultimate Cheerleaders - Women who want to be NFL cheerleaders will appreciate the dance routine videos and detailed information on tryouts. Guys who just want to ogle flat abs and toned legs will be equally pleased with the photo galleries and links to every official NFL cheerleading site. And for the hardcore sports fan, the site also features information on NBA dance teams, MLB ball girls, MLS dance teams, and many more. If it has anything to do with professional cheerleaders, you’ll find it here.
  6. Fantasy Football Librarian - There are tons of sites willing to offer you fantasy football advice, but this blog saves you time by gathering much of the information in one spot. Featuring numerous links to respected sites such as Athlon Sports, FFToolbox, KFFL and more, Fantasy Football Librarian will answer all your questions on who to start and who to bench. I also like their consensus picks, which dig through the expert sites to find the players everyone agrees on. One of the best fantasy football blogs currently available.
  7. IDP Guru - Most fantasy football fans don’t compete in leagues that use individual defensive players, but those who do need a top resource to stay on top of all the injuries and roster changes. This site does the trick, providing individual rankings for defensive linemen, linebackers, and defensive backs. I’m also fond of their weekly waiver wire suggestions and information on whose dynasty league stock is rising.
  8. GridironExperts.com - The site's slogan is: "Where Fantasy Champions Are Born." That's a big statement, essentially promising their readers that they'll have more success at FF just by reading the site. Updated weekly (and also daily in case of big news of injuries, firings, trades, etc.), GridironExperts.com has a staff of dedicated FF junkies. GridironExpert's "Start 'em / Sit 'em" feature is one of the best online, and should be bookmarked by anyone who suffers from chronic indecisiveness.
  9. Razzball - I love blogs with frequent updates, and Razzball is one of the best in this department. Each week, readers will be treated to sound fantasy football advice and analysis, including sleepers, busts, and all kinds of statistical information. The goodness doesn’t stop when the NFL season concludes, either, as Razzball provides information on fantasy baseball, basketball, and hockey.
  10. Fantasy Sports Gab - Another well-maintained blog that lavishes its readers with weekly fantasy content. Includes injuries, sleepers, players on the rise, and last-minute information. Then, after the weekly slate of games has concluded, they deliver a thorough rundown of all major events and impact players. If you need frequent waiver wire advice, these guys won’t let you down.
